argh

It is really quite frustrating to not be able to draw anything, ever, the way I want to.

I am infuriated over my limitations. I can't even master a cartoon style of my own. It's really quite pathetic.

But I don't have the patience or the dedication to get any better. argh.

I know exactly what you mean; which is why I've had this art block for a few weeks now.

What I've been doing is trying to take my inspirations and mixing them up, in a sense. Maybe it'd work for you, too?

FAQ #656: Do you prohibit obscene pictures of Harry Potter, who is a minor, getting graphically effed in the A by one of his teachers?
:icongoatofwisdom:
It's an interesting idea, certainly, but mostly I feel I lack enough basics to accomplish much of anything.

I get so caught up in making everything look right that the frustration sets in before I can even accomplish anything. I should probably try more drawing off of models or studying poses or something, but that's a hard thing to do outside of art classes, especially when you don't have the pressure of considering yourself an artist to keep you motivated.

gesture drawing! thats what I almost always fall back on when I realize Ive gotten too stiff and too concerned about everything being perfect. I'll just go through magazines, or even references on DA, people at work etc, and I'll just whip out gesture drawing after gesture drawing to try and get myself to loosen up.

DEATH comes for you all!!! Mwahahahahaha..wait..where'd I leave my toaster? Has anyone SEEN my toaster? I cant commit genocide without my toaster!
:icongoatofwisdom:
might be a good idea.

I hate drawing from pictures though xD

I understand you, it's indeed frustrating. :bleh:

I think it could useful have a little notepad or moleskine in your pocket, to catch your ideas at the same time you have it.
